STILETTO MOODY? FREEEE!?!?!?!

So I had a day buying new skins and stuff (which I love my new Curio skins btw). And I was broke and for some odd reason decided to go look at what was new at Stiletto Moody, which is the place where you go when you're the EXACT opposite of broke. Weird. Anyway, nothing much was going on so I logged off there. After a brief nap, about 1 AM or so, I logged back on, rezzing in on the SM sim. And it was like walking in cement. There were SO many people on my mini map and I couldn't figure out why. So I checked my notices and I swear to god I wish I could show you the face I made! FREE STILETTO MOODY SHOES FOR GROUP MEMBERS!

These shoes are actually quite gorgeous. Even though I'm having an issue with the skin tones, as I think there might be a bug with the scripting (so please ignore the slight off coloration) they still are just... immaculate. Though, much like God, the designers of SM are cruel and wrathful when they want to be, as they shut down enrollment for the group simply for these shoes. XD So if you aren't in the group then I do deeply apologize.

The Cornfield

I'm so in mourning of Halloween. It came and went by so fast, but it was so fun! Anyway, I had heard about the legendary 'Cornfield' pretty late in the game, but even so, I HAD to go there and play. And I also bought a few new pretties, so I might as well do my photospread here.

First off, I got this little black jacket and skirt combo called 'Crosswalking' from Apple May at about the same time I got my 'Alice' outfit. I love how realistic the prim attachments make the jacket look! I paired it with a leather bustier and some hot pink glowwy earrings for a real punk rock look. I LOVE THIS LOOK! When I was running around the Cornfield, I reminded myself of one of those girls from a bad 80's horror movie. Y'know, the ones that are all like 'Wooo! Sex and Drugs!' and then they get hacked to death or eaten. XD

This second look was just mostly about my jewelry. I LOVE THEM! Glow Studios released these new earrings not too long ago and I got to say, they have to be my favorite earrings I've seen on SL. They're so dangly and pretty!

I had so much fun at the Cornfield. I really hope they open it again next year!

Through the Looking Glass (on All Hollow's Eve)

Oh my god you guys. So yeah, I'm turning into a once every few months blogger or something. BUT! I have some friends that may blog with me soon, so all TWO of you guys will get more fun updates. Anywho...

I had to post for Halloween. And in order to celebrate my RL Halloween this year (my BF and I are going as the King and Queen of Hearts), I decided to remain in theme with myself. And we have no Alice. :( Of course Sylvie was up to the challenge.

So I got the skankalicious outfit, aptly named "Alice," at Apple May (Whom I love. But it might be a tad TOO revealing for me). Everyone knows that a cute girl can't dress like a NORMAL fairy tale character. It's an unwritten law of Halloween, identified as 'the slut rule' by the movie Mean Girls. You HAVE to go above and beyond. And if I really looked like this I'd probably dress this way everyday. :)

I seriously love this look so much I may even creat my own version of other characters later for the heck of it. But another thing. Notice the SERIOUS improved quality? That's because I gots me a new 'puter with a badazz graphics card. Ergo, more blogging because prettier pictures. YAY!

EDIT: BTW, these photos and the ones on my Flickr were taken at the amazing Muse Isle: The Alice Experience and Cheshire sims. Check it out if you can.

Look of the Day: Can't Speak French

Just a quick update inspired by this beautiful dress I bought today! I discovered a new store called ALB Dream Fashion and I have to say, for a designer that isn't big name just yet, the couture wear is immaculate! I'm wearing the Dior Impression Peach set. It's kind of an update on a Victorian gown with a sexy modern twist. And you know how much I love to play dress up. :)

Full-Bloom Fashion

Paper Couture recently released their long awaited Spring Collection! I know, I know, it's June and Spring is a thing of the distant past, but the line only came out a few weeks ago... and when your clothes are as fabulous as this, you're allowed to be fashionably late.

Now I'm a picky girl, so I only bought two dresses and various accessories. BUT! They are very eye-catching pieces that I'm proud to hang in my closet (...er...inventory?).

For the Spring collection, the Lu sisters were inspired by what else? Flowers! The dress I'm wearing above is called 'Belladonna' and is a sexy little mini dress with a dramatic flair. And the dress even looks sexy without the shoulder ruffle!

I love this dress! It has almost an asian flair with such a bright sunny color.

The second dress is called 'Wrapped Paper Roses' and reminded me of something Carrie Bradshaw would wear because of all the flower pins attached. Also when I saw it, I instantly remembered that I had matching shoes, which is always a determining factor when I buy outfits.

Most of the dresses are GORGEOUS! However, I think it's the new shoes that steal the show.

Beautiful! My only complaint on some of the shoes is I wish there wasn't SO much going on (some of the patterns clash a wee bit with the accessories). But really it's a matter of personal taste. All of these fashions are available exclusively through P.C.'s location in Tableau and SLX.

Curio Obscura takes the crown for 'Biggest Hair in Sl'

So in my previous post, I stated that I made a find at Hair Fair '09 that was truly amazing. In fact it was crazy/amazing, CRAMAZING if you will. And really, I have nothing more to say, I'll just let the picture talk.
The hair itself came from Curio Obscura's booth at Hair Fair, along with three other truly CRAMAZING hairstyles that I can only hope will be sold at the mainstore after HF, because I spent all my Linden on this masterpiece. So ladies, here are the details...

The hair itself is 450L, which is not bad given all the options it comes with. The hair is scripted and comes with a wide variety of hair colors, accessory colors, and styles it can be worn in. Along with the ACTUAL SPINNING PROPELLERS with SOUND! And a STAGE in the middle of the hair with TINY DANCING COUPLES! OMG! Really, if you're looking for a head turner, do you really need to ask for more?

Hair Fair 09 Freebies!

Hello! I know I haven't made a post since March, but due to the fact that I have lost my own laptop (which is a long story too infuriating to tell) I'm sharing one with my boyfriend and it makes blogging, net time, and SL in general hard. However! I come back with a vengeance! Though not too terribly vengeance-y.

I went to the Hair Fair last year and it was still new, so needless to say I wasn't all that excited. Well, that and the fact that I was playing my boy avvy on an event sim catering mostly to females. And this year it still did, BUT! I have my terribly beautiful Sylvie here. :)

Anyway, I was shocked at the number of freebies available there! Not only hair but actual outfits as well. However, I wasn't able to visit all the booths due to lag and inability to enter some of the regions at different times, so I went through my freebies and created a look from them.

I picked up the Hi-Top's from Truth's HF booth. They're really cute and exquisitely detailed. Sort of a spray painted, street look (which is also why I picked this New York back drop, the shoes inspired me :D). The outfit and hair came from Posh, whom I just heard of at the Hair Fair. They have some seriously cute emo inspired hair so they're worth a look.

I also found something AMAZING at the Hair Fair, but that merits it's own post. ;)

One short day in the Emerald City...

So a few weeks ago, I was invited to a fairytale party by a friend. I knew everyone and their mother was going to dress up like a princess of some sort, so I opted to be different, and there was this witch outfit at Discord I had been eyeing for some time... Naturally I had to choose a black costume to match my black, evil heart. :)

Can I just tell you how much I love Discord? the outfits are not bad quality at all, and every one is 99L! As a matter of fact, this entire look was built off of bargains (minus the shoes, they're Redgrave but made of awesome so its no big). The skin was only 100L! It came from the incomparable ZsaZsa's House of Beauty. It's a drag queen store, so you'd expect the make-ups to be gawdy and horrible, but if you put them on your feminine shape they actually look REALLY pretty in a couture kind of way. I bought like... six. And the jewelry were freebies too!

I could go on and on with the fun I had with this outfit, but considering there is vastly more to talk about with this post, I figured I'd get to the point. At this party (where my costume went over very well, thank you), my friends kept referring to me as 'Elphaba,' which we all know is the Wicked Witch's real name according to 'Wicked.' And that got me to thinking... I SHOULD TOTALLY PUT LOOKS TOGETHER FOR THE OTHER OZ GIRLS!

For Dorothy, I went more modern, like she was a party girl that happened to wake up in Oz one day, so I put her in the 'Ashton Marie Party Dress' from Pink Outfitters. I didn't buy the dress specifically for this idea, I bought it because I love powder blue and white as a color pairing and this dress was funky and young. I was wracking my brain for some idea to come to me as to what my Dorothy would wear and found this in my 'dress' folder and was like 'YES!' And for the trademark Ruby Slippers, I used Maitreya's Verve Pumps in red, since they seem to be the hot shoe at the moment (seriously, everybody has them).

And then there is what would have to be my favorite outfit, my Glinda.

Again, the dress is from Pink Outfitters, bought at the same time as the Ashton Marie because I'm a sucker for a good dress. I paired it with my Juicy shoes that I wear EVERYWHERE. But those really arent the stars of this piece.

While playing around the 'Magic of Oz' sim scouting for locations, I discovered a shop by Ms. Violet Voltaire and was instantly charmed. Her jewelry reminds my of real-life designer Tarina Tarantino, because they both share the love of pink, candy, and hearts and make beautiful porcelain pieces. She had everything I needed and then some at her mainstore (and she stopped by to visit her shoppers while I was there! She's so nice!). I'm particularly in love with the crown, aren't you?

First Post!

syltopmodel2_003

Hi boys and girls! It's me, Sylvie Stratten, making my very first post on my blog! Right now it's a little bit basic, and that's mostly due to the fact that I'm very picky when it comes to graphics, and I really just want to wait until I find that perfect image, you know? However that shouldn't stop me from making posts, and make no mistakes, it won't!

For my first post, I decided to showcase my sick obsession with America's Next Top Model. Seriously, I get chills every time I watch the promo for Cycle 12 on Youtube. It's mostly because that Lady GaGa song is hot. And yes I know it's already aired two episodes but I decided to recreate the promo shoot with some of my own styling. :)

syltopmodel1_001

First off, seeing the girls with the Queen Amidala-esque red geisha lips made me think of only one skin, the beautiful Asian 3 from SOUL, part of their new Ethnic line. Each of the Asian skins has a make up like this which is SO great for doing fashion editorials. They really just make my heart happy. :D

The dress is Aoharu's Monroe Graduation Dress in white. For the second photo I embellished it with some sleeve ruffles from Aoharu's Ruffle Shirt Dress, just to make it a little more couture. Either way, this dress is cute, and it's very Marilyn Monroe! Seriously, it twirls and floats when you walk, so you don't have to stand over a steam grate to achieve the same effect.
